Book Marked

book project by tom whitworth
I was inspired by the artists' books on display at the California Antiquarian Book Fair in San Francisco earlier this year, (Thank you, Stephen at Chanticleer Books for the passes.) and I've thrown myself into bookmaking.

My first project is a collection of shorebirds' eggs in a box-style book with painted interior and accompanying illustrated booklets. Kind of complicated to explain, but I think it will be interesting. I've finished the paper mache eggs. Next up: The Box.

Reinterpreting Lichtenstein for the Holidays

I'm confused. Was that snow or just a momentary swirl of dots?

If this is February, there must have been a Christmastime in the not so distant past, which means there's got to be a new series of portraits out there somewhere...

Oh, here it is:

The previous series...
Christmas 2011: It was a harried Haring Christmas
Christmas 2010: Christmas series 2010
Christmas 2009: Christmas departure
Christmas 2008: And then it was Christmas
Christmas 2007: Cat scratch Christmas
